Pip Monk - Principal Lawyer

With almost 15 years of experience in Tasmania and South Australia, Pip has established herself as a leading advocate and criminal defence lawyer. Representing clients in the Magistrates Court and Supreme Court, Pip is a respected and sought after expert in criminal law.
Pip established Monk Lawyers in 2023, after ten years at Tasmanian Legal Aid.
Pip has dedicated her career to fighting for the rights of individuals charged with criminal offences, ranging from simple driving offences to serious charges before the Supreme Court. Her passion for justice and her extensive courtroom experience have enabled her to successfully represent clients in the Magistrates Court, Supreme Court, and Court of Criminal Appeal.
Pip graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2010, and completed her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice in July 2011. She moved to South Australia where she began working for the Legal Services Commission of South Australia, and quickly developed a reputation for her natural advocacy skills and uncompromising defence of her clients. She returned to Tasmania in 2013 and worked for Tasmanian Legal Aid from May 2013-May 2023. She has established herself as an accomplished, experienced and fearless criminal defence lawyer.
As Principal of Monk Lawyers, Pip is a sought after expert in criminal law. She proudly leads her team of criminal lawyers and enjoys mentoring and supervising alongside her own file load. Pip is the Chair of the Law Society of Tasmania Criminal Law Committee, and is a member of the Law Society of Tasmania Council. Pip was appointed by the Judges of the Supreme Court as a member of the Disciplinary Tribunal. Pip regularly offers her expertise to the wider profession through the provision of CPD sessions, including sessions on the use of witness intermediaries, navigating police procedures, criminal hearings in the Magistrates Court, and dealing with alleged family violence offenders

Olivia McKee - Lawyer

Olivia McKee is a criminal lawyer who graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2023. Joining Monk Lawyers in 2025, Olivia has quickly developed a reputation for her court room advocacy.
Olivia completed her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the Tasmanian Legal Practice Course in 2024. Throughout the start of her career, Olivia has gained valuable experience in criminal law practice. She has appeared regularly in the Magistrates Court and has experience appearing in the Supreme Court, and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. Olivia was part of the Court Duty Lawyer program, assisting those as Court who need legal representation.
Since joining Monk Lawyers, Olivia has developed a reputation as a skilled and compassionate advocate, who leaves no stone unturned when defending her clients.

Lizzie Arnold - Associate
She/Her
Lizzie is a dedicated and experienced criminal lawyer, who is known for her passionate commitment to her clients and her excellent advocacy.
Lizzie graduated from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Arts and Laws in 2022 and completed her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice through the Tasmanian Legal Practice Course. She was admitted to the Supreme Court of Tasmania in 2023.
Lizzie commenced her career on the North West Coast working with Tasmania Legal Aid. She appeared daily in the Magistrates Court assisting vulnerable members of the community who faced charges in that jurisdiction, including working as a duty lawyer. Lizzie gained an enormous amount of experience in her time in the North West including regular Supreme Court appearances.
Lizzie is known to be efficient, professional and an exceptional advocate who will fight for the best outcome for her clients. Lizzie is passionate about the rights of her clients, and she is a member of the Prisoners Legal Service Committee and she is the Secretary of the Southern Young Lawyers Committee.
