Dishonesty offences
Pip has represented people in both the Magistrates Court and the Supreme Court for a number of dishonesty offences, ranging from shoplifting through to aggravated burglary, aggravated armed robbery and dealing with proceeds of crime. Dishonesty offences can have significant impacts on your ability to work, travel and volunteer so it is important that you have legal representation regardless of whether you intend to plead guilty or not guilty.
In 2022, Pip represented two separate clients who had fallen victim to online romance scams and had committed offences as a result. AH had been scammed for many years online by someone pretending to be in a romantic relationship with him, and he had spent huge amounts of his own money in pursuit of that relationship. He eventually stole money from a place where he volunteered. To read more about that case, click here.
MW had also been the victim of a romance scam. She unknowingly became what is known as a 'money mule' and was charged with dealing with proceeds of crime. To read more about this case, click here.
