Sexual offences

Pip has represented members of the community charged with a huge varety of sexual offences including sexual offences against children. Sex offences can range from Magistrates Court offences such as assault with indecent intent through to serious sexual matters in the Supreme Court such as rape or persistent sexual abuse of a young person. Allegations of a sexual nature are extremely serious and, if proved, most result in terms of imprisonment to serve. It is important to engage a lawyer as early in the process as possible, potentially before you even speak to the police. Often, police will get in contact with you and ask you to come to the police station to discuss a sex offence. If this happens to you, you should call a lawyer immediately before speaking to the police.

In 2023, Pip represented RB in the Supreme Court. He was charged with a sex offence relating to messages he sent to a girl who was underage. There were a number of factors that were relevant to sentencing, that ultimately led to the imposition of a sentence of imprisonment that was wholly suspended.
